Admission to the hosiptal on 25 Oct 08

At 1am on 25 Oct 08, I admitted to the delivery suite. I was very anxious when I entered the deliver room and do not know what to do. I lie on the bed and have my CTG test, everything is normal. At 2am, Dr Wee came into the delivery to check on me. He notice that I am still not in labour, thus decided to induce as per scheduled.

After 2 hours of waiting, my CTG test is still showing as per normal. I was being sent to the ward.
Labour does not start till late afternoon.  The contraction started on and off, I could not eat, sleep or do anything.  I have a quick bath, by 6pm in the evening, I was push to the delivery room.  Initially, it is for another roundof induction, when I was in the delivery room, the nurse told me I am 6 cm dilation which means I am going to deliver anytime.  I did not have any epidural taken as per planned.

We waited anxiously, the nurse told me, I might have to wait till mid night before my delivery.  Who knows, in an hour time, I am fully dilated and ready for delivery.  Dr Wee was informed and he arrived shortly.  In a midst of time, my baby is delivered successfully at 19:25.  FINALLY!!
FAST and; CLEAN!! HAHAHA!!

Motherhood started!!  :)

My Thirtheen Visits - 38.4weeks

This is my last visit to the gynea, I was asked to admit today midnight for induction.

As I had lost 1.5 kg (61.3kg now) compare to my previous check up and there are more white spots are formed on the placenta due to the aging placenta, my doctor is kind of worries that the baby might be in danger and recommended me to admit.

I was kind of sad as I do really enjoyed my pregnancy even though it is kind of heavy and hurt at times.

After the check up, we went for out breakfast and stroll down to the guan yin miao near bugis to pray, hoping for a smooth delivery. Hubby and I went back home after that to do our last preparation for the arrival of the baby. We have informed both our families.

My Twelveth 20 Oct 08 - 38 Weeks

As usual, after working we went for our regular check up, today I have to reach there 30 mins earlier for my CTG testing. At first I do not know what the test is all about, when i got there the nurse explained the machine measures the baby's heartbeat and my contraction. I have to lie down motionless for half an hour for the test. I did my routine test first before proceeding for my CTG testing.

After the test, I waited for my turn outside the gynes's room. 15 mins later, my name was called. I went into the room and my gynea told me that from the test everything is normal. During ultra screening, my gynea spotted some white particles on my placenta, this is due to aging placenta. The baby might not be getting all the nutrients, the calcium from my body did not reach the baby and fall out causing the white spot on the placenta. He told me that if the condition did not improve, I would need to admit earlier to induce. He told us to prepare ourselves and arranged another appointment on Friday.

He took the snap shot of my baby's picture and said he need it for reference. Today's check my baby weighs 3 kg while my weight increased to 62.8kg.

My Tenth Visit - 34 Weeks

On 22 September 08, this is the 10th visit.  Everything is as per normal, could not remember much on this day... so sad!!

My Eleventh Visit - 13 Oct 08 - 37 Weeks

Wah~~ I am 37 weeks now, could not believe it.

Time really flies fast, soon my gal would be out to this world, can you believe it?

As usual upon reaching KK hospital for the check up, I have to go through my routine tests first before seeing the doctor. I did not gain much weight today and am weighing 61.9 kg. Dr Wee asked me if I am dieting and if I am eating well or not, he then looked at my hubby for the answer. We told him that I am eating as per normal even though I feeling nausea and breathless. He told me I am very skinny, as long as I am eating fine and not dieting then it would fine.

During Ultra screening, my gynea checked on
  1. My baby to scan her heart, liver, etc to see if they are growing well. He measured my baby's weight and said she is now weighing 2.65Kg.

  2. My placenta to see if it is in place, he was able to see that there is still alot of fluid for the baby to move around.

  3. The umbilical cord to make sure that it does not go round the baby's neck.

To our relieve, everything is growing fine. ^_^

My Ninth Visit - 31 weeks

On 1 September 08, I have my ninth visit to the gynea. Everything went smoothly and my baby is growing well.

I have put on quite a number of weight this round and am weighing 61.4kg. I am glad that my baby is growing quite well too and is weighing 1.58Kg, a gain of 0.38kg since the last visit. She is still in the Breech position but am not worried because there is still alot of room for her to move down claimed the doctor.

My Eighth Visit - 27 Weeks

On 6 Aug 08 this is my eighth visit to the gynea. In today's visit, I have a gynea visit and two blood tests. My appointment with the gynea is at 9.30am while the two blood tests are 9am and 11 am. I ought to fast over night for the blood test. The night before when the clock strike twelve, I have to stop eating and drinking, this really make my life very tough. I could not stand without any water.

During the first blood test at 9am, I was given a cup of glucose to drink. The glucose drink is for my second blood test to check if my body can dispense away the glucose that I have taken. The glucose drink is very sweet. Yuck!! No food and drinks are allowed until I finished my second blood test. I was so weak and hungry at that time.

At 9.30am, I visited my gynea for the regular check up. I complaint to him that I am having stomachache and diarrhoea for the past few weeks, he looks worried, he told me to go for a cervix examination immediately. This is a precaution checking in case of any premature labor. Hubby and I do as he said. Results came out; the cervix gap is 3.1cm which is normal. A relief look is shown on my gynea. After the result, I have my Ultra sound screening, gynea told me that the placenta is in place, my baby is growing well and she is weighing 1.18kg. I am delighted that my baby is safely growing inside my womb. After the examination, my gynea told me to rest at home for 3 days, he told me not to stress too much and rest more.

My Seventh Visit - 23 Weeks

I have my seventh visit on the 9 Jul 08, as usual; I left office at 5pm. Today, I took a different route to the hospital, instead of taking bus 57 from PSA building; I took a bus to HarbourFront MRT station and took a train to Little India station. As I am not familiar to which exit I should leave, I went to the wrong one. When I am out of the MRT station, the place look so strange to me, I asked a lady how to get to KK hospital; she pointed the direction and told me to be extremely careful as she knew I am pregnant. She is such a nice person. :)

After 5 minutes walk, I still did not see the hospital. I thought to myself, am I lost. I did not stop walking as I have a feeling that the hospital is just round the corner. True enough, I reached the hospital in less than 15 minutes.

I have my routine tests before seated outside the gynea's room to wait for hubby and my turn to see the doctor. My blood pressure and urine test are normal but I have gained 3kg in one month, currently weighing 57.7kg. Wow!!

When in the gynea's room, the gynea first question to me is how everything is and he continued you have been eating alot. Is your appetite getting better? I told him yes I ate more than usual and I asked him, is the baby growing or am I growing myself, he said that this is what he is going to find out too. Hehe!!

During Screening, he examined my baby and told me that my baby is weighing 800gm currently and she is perfectly growing well. He added she would be around 3kg when she is born. My baby is a shy gal, she knew today we are coming to see her, she swim facing downwards but she is very active as we keep seeing her moving. The doctor asked if I could feel her moving, I told him occasionally.

11 Jun 08 - My Sixth Visit - 19.3 Weeks

It is a Wednesday morning, we woke up as per working days to prepare our visit to the gynea. Today is not just a gynea visit, a detailed screening had been scheduled.

After my registration, we were asked to wait outside the screening room. I measured my weight, finally I had gained some weight and I am weighing 54.8kg. Once again the ultra sound screening is done by another doctor. A female doctor attended to me, everything went well at the beginning when she was unable to get the result she wanted. She started hitting and pressing harder on my tummy, she did apologies for the roughness and she got even more violent after that. She was trying to get a clearer view of my baby spine; however, my baby refused to turn to her back and lied still at her back. The doctor asked me to go for a 5 -10 minutes walk before continuing our screening. Even after the walk, the baby remained the same, the doctor asked me to lie on my side and true enough, the baby swim facing down. We do not understand the reason why she still keep hitting and pressing so hard. Hubby initially wants to tell her to stop but he did not. After half an hour, finally is over. What a relief, phew!!

The result shows that my baby is perfectly normal, everything organs are growing fine. We had been told the gender of my baby, guess what!! Is a gal!!! I sent an sms to my sister telling her that I am carrying a baby gal, she is very happy. She has actually guessed correctly that mine is a baby gal and she said gal gal is better than a boy.

We were unable to go back yet even after the screening, as we still had an appointment with my gynea. We waited almost 2 hours for the doctor as he is once again in the process of delivering a baby. We were very hungry as it is past noon; hubby went to the Mr. Bean stall to get some pan cakes and a glass of warm soya bean. Yum Yum!! After finishing our snack, the doctor was back. It only took less than 15 minutes in the gynea's room and everything is done.

My Fifth Visit on 12 May 08

We always look forward on every visit to the gynea. We wonder what would our baby do this round and to see how he / she is growing.

Every visit, I have to go through the routine tests. The result shows normal except my weight. I had only gained 0.3kg this month and I was weighing 51.9kg. My doctor seem abit worried on my weight, he checked to see if I had been eating well and I told him I did. After screening, he had no worries as he knew that my baby is growing perfectly well and is very active.

As I am 15 weeks now and I am quite curious to know the gender of my baby. During Screening, I asked my doctor whether he would be able to tell the gender of the baby. He said should be able to see provided the baby cooperates by opening the legs. He tried to see but it is quite hard to determine as the baby crossed the legs. He tried different angle till the baby got too shy and swim facing downwards (picture 2). Haha!! No choice, we would have to wait for the next round for our chance.
